Steering wheels and Spare tires – two indispensable, crucial items. However, one is prominent and regularly depended upon, and the other is tucked away and rarely called upon. Though most people would not want to be without a spare tire, it’s virtually forgotten about.

We have to grab hold of a steering wheel and trust in its ability to safely navigate our path and intentionally engage with it if we expect any good result. The vehicle simply wouldn’t operate without employing its use.
Interestingly, cars are still driveable if a spare tire is missing, as long as there’s no emergency that would call for it.
Steering Wheel or Spare tire?
Prayer can be one or the other. So can the Lord, Christ Jesus. We can’t travel on this life’s journey without both prayer hands on the steering wheel. It’s an intentional effort as Christ-followers.
