Know Jesus

Why all the talk about Jesus?
Why is He always offered as “the answer” all the time?
Why do I need Him? For what?
What’s the big deal?

Maybe something is nudging you to finally know.

Our attempts to trust our righteousness to pay our own sin debt fall hopelessly short of God’s holiness, leaving man eternally separated from Him (Isa 64:6).

That’s the bad news.

The Gospel’s Good News, however, is that we don’t have to perish in our sins because Jesus paid the debt for the debt we cannot pay (Rom 6:23). Whoever trusts in Christ’s righteousness and receives Him as Lord and Savior will not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). We then receive a new heart and a new mind and become new creations in Christ (2 Cor 5:17).

That is my story. I wasn’t looking for Him; God first loved me (1 John 4:19). Like all mankind, as a result of the fall, I was born physically into the world but spiritually dead and was lost until that fateful day when He called me, and I was born once again (John 3:3).

I came to receive true life, found only on the constricting, narrow road that the world keeps missing the turn for as it races down destruction’s broad highway lane (Matt 7:13).

Perhaps you’re seeing your story in this, too.

Jesus doesn’t call perfect people; He calls those who know they’re not right and in need of a Savior.

He [Jesus] said, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick.
– Matthew 9:12

If we could save ourselves based on our own righteousness, then there would be no reason for Him to hang on a cross. He did this because we can’t save ourselves. But if we willingly accept His sacrifice for our sins, then we can receive salvation and eternal life.

There’s no other ways to be saved.

Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
– John 14:6
