Candidates grapple to find out who won.
Jesus has already won.
Citizens are anxious to see who overcame the opponent.
Jesus has already overcome.
Candidates campaign to build up their name.
Jesus is the Name above all names.
Voters seek after leaders who will get the job done.
Jesus declared, “It is finished.“
The glory and earthly affairs of man will vanish as a vapor.
The glory and majesty of Christ Jesus will continue on full display for all eternity.
Presidents take their seat among fellow sinners.
Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father.
The sitting leader is and was, and another will come.
Jesus declares, “I am the Alpha and Omega, the one who is, who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
The elected are with us throughout their term.
Jesus declares, “I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Voters cast their vote in uncertainty.
Believers will cast their crowns in glorious adoration.
A new earthly leader; a new platform; a new path and new promises.
Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Politicians make bold promises and candidates make national polls.
The faithful make disciples of all nations.
Election winners take an imperfect office for four years.
The increase of His government and peace will have no end.
Do not trust in princes,
In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation.
His spirit departs, he returns to the earth;
In that very day his thoughts perish.
How blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
Whose hope is in the LORD his God
(Psalm 146:3-7)
